Summary
Approves the establishment of 58 new field security posts for the Office of the UN Security Coordinator, and decides to appropriate US$2,583,000; authorizes the Secretary-General to enter into commitments not to exceed $38,033,200 for the financing of infrastructure projects; requests the Secretary-General to submit to it at its 59th session a comprehensive report on further strengthening the safety and security of UN operations, staff and premises; decides that the resource requirements in the requested report should be based on and justified in terms of the Secretary-General's comprehensive review of safety and security; requests the Secretary-General to entrust the Office of Internal Oversight Services with the conduct of an audit review of the utilization of the funds appropriated by the General Assembly in its resolution 56/286; decides to approve an additional appropriation under the regular budget in the amount of $18,287,100; also decides to approve an additional appropriation in the amount of $48,700.
