Progress report of the Secretary-General on Ethiopia and Eritrea

Provides an update on developments since the previous report of 20 Dec. 2002 (S/2002/1393) and describes the deployment and activities of the UN Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE), whose mandate was extended until 15 Mar. 2003 by Security Council resolution 1434 (2002). Includes an update on UNMEE activities related to the provision of assistance to the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission. Reports on the status of the Temporary Security Zone and adjacent areas, Boundary Commission, action in mine clearance, humanitarian and human rights developments, public information, and financial aspects. Annexes include the 8th report of the Boundary Commission covering the period 1 Dec. 2002-21 Feb. 2003 and a table showing contributions to the Mission as at 26 Feb. 2003. DAA
