Appeals to countries which are outside the region but which have links with it and interests in it to facilitate the implementation of the agreements concluded by the Central American Presidents; requests the Secretary-General to afford the fullest possible support to the Central American Governments in their efforts to achieve peace especially by taking the measures necessary for the establishment and effective functioning of the verification machinery in respect of security, through the UN Observer Group in Central America; urges the international community and international organizations to increase their technical, economic and financial co-operation with the Central American countries; requests the Secretary-General to submit a preliminary report to the General Assembly during the first 2 weeks of Dec. 1989 on progress made in implementing the present resolution and to submit a report thereon to the Assembly at its 45th session.
