Reports that Meles Zenawi, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, in efforts to mediate between the Government of the Sudan and the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA), Northern Sector, visited Khartoum on 21 Aug. 2011 and held a meeting with Omer Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir, President of the Sudan and Malik Agar, the leader of SPLA, Northern Sector to lay down the basis for a peaceful settlement of the situation in South Kordofan.
