Tobacco use and maternal and child health

Urges Member States to consider the importance of tobacco control in improving maternal and child health as part of their public health policies and in their development cooperation programmes; requests the Secretary-General to convene a meeting of the Ad Hoc Inter-Agency Task Force on Tobacco Control; also requests the Secretary-General to submit a report on the work of the Ad Hoc Inter-Agency Task Force on Tobacco Control to the Economic and Social Council at its substantive session of 2012.
