Refers to the letter of the Secretary-General dated 17 Sept. 2010 (S/2010/491) expressing his intention to appoint Benjamin Mkapa, Antonio Monteiro and Bhojraj Pokharel for a 3-member panel to monitor and assess the referendum processes for Southern Sudan and the Abyei area, and reports that members of the Council have taken note of the intention expressed in the letter.
