Summary
Notes the activity of the Collective Security Treaty Organization for the development of regional cooperation in such areas as strengthening regional security and stability, peacemaking, counter-terrorism, combating illegal trafficking in narcotics and arms, countering organized transnational crime and human trafficking, and combating natural and man-made disasters, which contributes to the attainment of the purposes and principles of the UN; invites the specialized components of the UN system, such as the Department of Political Affairs of the Secretariat, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Counter-Terrorism Committee and its Executive Directorate, to cooperate and develop direct contacts with the Collective Security Treaty Organization for the joint implementation of programmes aimed at the attainment of their objectives; requests the Secretary-General of the UN to submit to the General Assembly at its 65th session a report on the implementation of the present resolution
