Future operation of the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women

Requests the Institute, within its mandate, to continue to assist countries in promoting and supporting the political participation and economic and social advancement of women through training programmes; stresses the critical importance of voluntary financial contributions by Member States to the UN Trust Fund for the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women to enable it to carry out its mandate, and invites Member States to make voluntary contributions to the Trust Fund; calls for the diversification of funding resources, and in this regard invites Member States to continue to provide assistance and support to the Institute through voluntary contributions and substantive involvement in its projects and activities; looks forward to the enhanced implementation of the strategic plan of the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women under the leadership of the new director, and, in this regard, urges the Secretary-General to appoint, as a matter of priority, its new director.
