Decides to renew the mandate of the UN Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) as established under resolution 1740 (2007) until 23 Jan. 2010; requests the Secretary-General to report to the Security Council by 30 Oct. 2009 on the implementation of this resolution, and progress in creating the conditions conducive to completion of UNMIN's activities by the end of the current mandate; requests the parties in Nepal to take the necessary steps to promote the safety, security and freedom of movement of UNMIN and associated personnel in executing the tasks defined in the mandate; decides to remain seized of the matter.
