Summary
Welcomes the growing exchanges between the UN and the UN human rights treaty bodies; invites States in areas in which regional arrangements in the field of human rights do not yet exist to consider concluding agreements with a view to establishing, within their respective regions, suitable regional machinery for the promotion and protection of human rights; requests the Secretary-General to continue to strengthen exchanges between the UN and regional intergovernmental organizations dealing with human rights; requests the Office of the High Commissioner to continue to pay special attention to the most appropriate ways of assisting countries of the various regions.
