Strengthening of the coordination of emergency humanitarian assistance of the United Nations : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly

Requests the Emergency Relief Coordinator to continue his efforts to strengthen the coordination of humanitarian assistance; encourages UN to continue to pursue efforts to strengthen partnerships at the global level with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement; reaffirms the importance of implementing the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015; also encourages efforts to provide education in emergencies to contribute to a smooth transition from relief to development; requests the Secretary-General to commission an independent comprehensive review of the activities of the Central Emergency Response Fund; invites Member States, the private sector and all concerned individuals and institutions to consider voluntary contributions to other humanitarian funding mechanisms; urges all Member States to address gender-based violence in humanitarian emergencies; decides to designate 19 August as World Humanitarian Day.
