Strengthening of the coordination of emergency humanitarian assistance of the United Nations

Stresses that the UN system should make efforts to enhance existing humanitarian capacities; urges Member States to develop, update and strengthen disaster preparedness and risk reduction measures at all levels; urges Member States to continue to take the necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of humanitarian personnel operating within their borders; welcomes decisions taken during the UN Climate Change Conference in 2007, in particular the Bali Action Plan; urges Member States to continue to prevent, investigate and prosecute acts of gender-based violence, including sexual violence in humanitarian emergencies.
