Recalls the Action Plan on International Cooperation on the Eradication of Illicit Drug Crops and on Alternative Development; emphasizes that the problem of illicit production of narcotic drugs is often related to development problems; urges donor Governments, as well as multilateral, international and regional financial institutions, to redouble their efforts to enhance international cooperation; commends the UN Office on Drugs and Crime for its continued and progressive work on alternative development; requests the Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime to report to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs at its 52nd session on the implementation of the present resolution.
