The purpose of the mission to the United Republic of Tanzania was to gather information about the impact of both large- and small-scale mining activities in the country, to learn about chemicals management as well as waste management for both industrial and domestic waste, and to study the existing legal framework and its enforcement on the transboundary movement of toxic waste and hazardous materials.
