Assesses progress made in implementation of Human Rights Council resolution 7/1 for a 2-month period (25 Feb.-25 Apr. 2008), from the end of the reporting period of the High Commissioner's previous report on the topic (A/HRC/7/76); primarily focuses on the situation in and around the Gaza Strip (particularly in the context of its closure) and on violence against the civilian populations; addresses other actions taken by the parties during the reporting period which affect the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, sets out briefly the legal obligations of all parties under international human rights law and international humanitarian law and provides recommendations to the Council.
