Summary
Urges States and international, regional and subregional organizations to inform the Committee as appropriate by 25 June 2008 of areas in which they are able to provide assistance; decides to extend the mandate of the 1540 Committee for a period of 3 years, with the continued assistance of experts, until 25 Apr. 2011; requests the 1540 Committee to complete its report and to submit it to the Security Council as soon as possible but no later than 31 July 2008; requests the 1540 Committee to consider a comprehensive review of the status of implementation of resolution 1540 (2004) and to report to the Council on its consideration on the matter by no later than 31 Jan. 2009; decides that the Committee should submit an annual Programme of Work to the Security Council before the end of each January; decides that the 1540 Committee will submit to the Security Council a report no later than 24 Apr. 2011 on compliance with resolution 1540 (2004) through the achievement of the implementation of its requirements.
