Refers to Secretary-General's letter of 21 Nov. 2007 (S/2007/719) recommending the upgrading of the temporary Liaison Office of the Special Envoy for the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA)-affected areas to a special political mission for the Special Envoy for the LRA-affected areas and its mandate be extended for a duration of one year through 31 December 2008 and reports that members of the Council take note of the information and proposal contained in the letter.
