Summary
Reiterates the importance of UN activities at the regional level to advancement in disarmament and to increase the stability and security of its Member State; reaffirms that it is useful for the 3 regional centres to carry out dissemination and educational programmes; appeals to Member States and to international governmental and non-governmental organizations and foundations, to make voluntary contributions to the regional centres; emphasizes the importance of the activities of the regional disarmament branch of the Office for Disarmament Affairs of the Secretariat; requests the Secretary-General to provide all necessary support to the regional centres in carrying out their programmes of activities; decides to include in the provisional agenda of its 63rd sess. the item entitled "United Nations regional centres for peace and disarmament".
