Building a peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideal : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly

Urges Member States to observe, within the framework of the Charter of the UN, the Olympic Truce, individually and collectively, during the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing, the vision of which is based on the slogan "One world, one dream", and the Paralympic Games which follow it; requests the Secretary-General to promote the observance of the Olympic Truce among Member States and support for human development initiatives through sport, and to cooperate with the International Olympic Committee and the sporting community in general in the realization of those objectives.
