Summary
Recognizes that the Inter-Agency Network on Women and Gender Equality remains an important forum for the exchange and cross-fertilization of ideas on gender mainstreaming within the UN system; encourages all UN entities to continue investing in capacity development; requests all relevant UN entities to maintain their efforts to raise awareness of gender issues within their organizations and across the UN system; stresses the important role that senior management plays in creating an environment that actively supports gender mainstreaming; requests the Inter-Agency Network on Women and Gender Equality to continue to provide practical support to its members in gender mainstreaming; requests the Secretary-General to submit to the Economic and Social Council at its substantive session of 2008 a detailed report on the implementation of paragraph 4 of Council resolution 2006/36 and on progress made in the implementation of the present resolution.
