Summary
Commends the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, including its Terrorism Prevention Branch for providing technical assistance to States to facilitate the implementation of the international conventions and protocols relating to the prevention and suppression of terrorism; requests the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to intensify its efforts to provide Member States with technical assistance; recognizes the importance of the development and maintenance of fair and effective criminal justice systems, including the humane treatment of all those in pre-trial and correctional facilities and requests the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to take into account the elements necessary for building national capacity in order to strengthen criminal justice systems and the rule of law; expresses its appreciation to all Member States that have supported the technical assistance activities of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
