Conveys, on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement, concerns of the Movement regarding the alleged continuing encroachment by the Security Council on the functions and powers of the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and other organs through addressing issues that traditionally fall within the competence of these organs; refers to the draft resolution on Myanmar that was put to vote and regrettably not adopted by the Security Council on 12 Jan. 2007, despite the several timely letters addressed to the President of the Security Council by the Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, transmitting positions on this very important issue.
