Summary
Urges the UN system to enhance its assistance to developing countries, upon their request, in facilitating the realization of the internationally agreed development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals, and efforts towards the eradication of poverty and hunger through comprehensive and multidimensional approaches; requests the UN system to conduct common country assessments and the UN Development Assistance Framework processes under the leadership of national Governments; requests the Secretary-General, in his capacity as the Chairman of the UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination, to encourage the organizations and bodies of the UN system, within their respective mandates, to review their current approaches in the area of economic growth and social development in order to effectively address and facilitate the realization of the internationally agreed development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals.
