Summary
Reaffirms that countering the world drug problem is a common and shared responsibility that must be addressed in a multilateral setting, requires an integrated and balanced approach and must be carried out in full conformity with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the UN and other provisions of international law; encourages States to establish or strengthen mechanisms and procedures to ensure strict control of substances used to manufacture illicit drugs, to support international operations aimed at preventing their diversion; invites Member States to continue to share information on illicit synthetic drugs and other emerging substances of abuse with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the International Narcotics Control Board; urges all Governments to provide the fullest possible financial and political support to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime by widening its donor base and increasing voluntary contributions.
