Summary
At its 31st session the Working Group devoted priority attention to the human rights dimensions of prostitution, in particular the impact on human rights of different national responses to this phenomenon, with particular attention to initiatives to emphasize criminalization of demand, or legalization of prostitution in order to regulate it; the Working Group also considered various alternatives for ensuring that the future Human Rights Council expert advice mechanism will effectively address contemporary forms of slavery.
