Summary
Transmits letter of the same date from the President of the Sudan concerning the situation in Darfur; states that the effect of transfer of the mandate of the African Union forces in Darfur to UN forces, at a time when organs of the State and organizations have begun implementing the Darfur Peace Agreement, will be to further confuse matters and to create a very disorderly situation and lead to violence; requests the Security Council to allow the Government sufficient time to resolve the situation.
