Financing of the United Nations Iraq-Kuwait Observation Mission : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly

Decides that, taking into account the voluntary contributions of the Government of Kuwait, two thirds of the cash balance available as at 30 June 2005 in the amount of US$27,844,700 shall be returned to the Government of Kuwait; also decides that Member States that have fulfilled their financial obligations to the Observation Mission shall be credited with their respective share of the remaining balance as at 30 June 2005 in the amount of $13,922,300; further decides that, for Member States that have not fulfilled their financial obligations to the Observation Mission, their respective share of the remaining balance as at 30 June 2005 in the amount of $13,922,300 shall be set off against their outstanding obligations, in accordance with the scheme set out in paragraph 7 above; decides that updated information on the financial position of the Observation Mission shall be included in the report on the updated position of closed peacekeeping missions to be considered by the General Assembly at its 61st session under the agenda item entitled "Administrative and budgetary aspects of the financing of the UN peacekeeping operations".
