Summary
The objectives of the mission were to examine the effects of the burden of foreign debt, and the policies adopted to face them, on the capacity of the Government to adopt policies and programmes for the enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights; to engage in dialogue with the Government, UN bodies and specialized agencies and civil society in their efforts to secure these rights; to follow up on relevant concluding observations and recommendations from treaty bodies; and to recommend measures and actions that could be taken to alleviate such effects.
