Programme of Action for the 2nd International Decade of the World's Indigenous People : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly

Adopts the Programme of Action for the 2nd International Decade of the World's Indigenous People as a guideline for action for the 2nd Decade; urges all actors involved in the process to cooperate in a constructive and decisive manner; appeals to the international community at large to provide financial support to the Programme of Action; adopts "Partnership for action and dignity" as the theme for the 2nd Decade; requests the Coordinator of the 2nd Decade to consult with Member States, agencies, organizations and other relevant bodies and mechanisms of the UN system, indigenous organizations and other non-governmental organizations about the possibility of undertaking midterm and end-of-term reviews of the 2nd Decade; urges all Governments and indigenous organizations concerned to take every action necessary to facilitate the adoption of the draft UN declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples as soon as possible; decides to include in the provisional agenda of its 61st session, under the item entitled "Indigenous issues", a sub-item entitled "2nd International Decade of the World's Indigenous People".
