Summary
Requests its commissions, in their reports, to clearly identify the operational implications of their work for consideration and appropriate action by the governing bodies of the UN funds and programmes; decides to further strengthen its linkages with the UN regional commissions, including through the contribution of the commissions to the preparation of reports on implementation reviews; decides to continue to promote integrated and coordinated implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major UN conferences and summits; decides to continue to take necessary steps for the effective implementation of the provisions of General Assembly resolutions 50/227, 52/12 B and 57/270 B; requests the Secretary-General to submit a report on the role of the Economic and Social Council in the implementation of General Assembly resolutions 50/227, 52/12 B and 57/270 B for consideration by the Council at its substantive session in 2006.
