Provides an overview of the main results and decisions of the 60th session of ECE which are relevant to the work of the Committee on Environmental Policy, with particular attention to the following issues: sustainable development in the ECE region; cooperation with OSCE; UNECE reform; proposed programme budget for the biennium 2006-2007 and matters relating to the programme of work planning and evaluation processes; achieving the internationally agreed development goals, including those contained in the Millennium Declaration; major policy issues of ECE; achievements and constraints; and technical cooperation activities in 2004.
