Summary
Condemns in the strongest possible terms the assassination of the Head of the Egyptian Mission to Iraq and expresses its condolences to the family of the victim and to the Government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt; also condemns all terrorist attacks in Iraq, including the attempted assassinations of diplomats from Bahrain and Pakistan and attacks against other civilian personnel; emphasizes that there can be no justification for such terrorist acts and underlines the need to bring to justice the perpetrators; reaffirms its unwavering support for the Iraqi people in their political transition; recognizes the important role of Egypt and other neighbouring countries in supporting the political process, helping control transit across Iraq's borders, and extending other support to the Iraqi people.
