Summary
Decides to extend the mandate of ONUB until 1 Dec. 2005; calls upon all Burundian parties to exert greater efforts to ensure success of the Transition, national reconciliation and stability of the country in the longer term, in particular by refraining from any actions which may affect the cohesion of the Arusha Agreement process; requests the Secretary-General to continue to keep it informed in his reports on the situation in Burundi of actions taken in the fight against impunity; welcomes efforts undertaken by ONUB to implement the Secretary-General's zero-tolerance policy on sexual exploitation and abuse, and to ensure full compliance of its personnel with the UN code of conduct, requests the Secretary-General to continue to take all necessary action in this regard and to keep the Council informed, and urges troop-contributing countries to take appropriate preventive and disciplinary action to ensure that such acts are properly investigated and punished in cases involving their personnel.
