Summary
Welcomes the briefings by the Chairmen of the Al-Qaida/Taliban Sanctions Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267 (1999), the Counter-Terrorism Committee established pursuant to resolution 1373 (2001) and the Committee established pursuant to resolution 1540 (2004) on the work of the 3 Committees; welcomes the adoption by the General Assembly on 13 Apr. 2005 of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism by consensus; stresses the different mandates of the 3 Committees; reaffirms that the responsibility for implementing the Security Council resolutions relevant to the mandates of the 3 Committees, including preparation of reports to the respective Committees, rests with the States; invites the CTC to pursue its agenda as set out in the work programme for the CTC's 15th 90-day period (S/2005/266); encourages all parts of the UN to do their utmost to ensure that the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate becomes fully operational in the shortest possible time.
