DAA Provides an update on the political, humanitarian and reconstruction developments in Afghanistan as well as on the activities of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) since the previous report dated 26 Nov. 2004 (A/59/581-S/2004/925). Highlights the preparation of parliamentary elections scheduled for spring 2005, the overall security situation, the progress in disarmament, demobilization and reintegration, counter-narcotics activities and training of Afghan National Armed Forces and police. Includes sections on human rights, reconstruction and observations.
