Urges the Commission on Human Rights to extend the mandate of the Working Group elaborating a Draft Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; to introduce criteria within the Working Group to ensure strict adherence to principles of the UN Charter when any participant proposes new or modified human rights norms; and to ensure that proposals are consistent with international law and compatible with indigenous peoples' basic aspirations, status and rights.
