Summary
Calls for a prompt mobilization of resources to meet the emergency needs of the Caribbean countries, especially Haiti and Grenada; calls for an increase in financial resources and the strengthening of national and regional programmes for combating HIV/AIDS, as well as an increase in the supply of safe, effective and essential medicines at a reasonable cost; requests the Secretary-General to submit to the General Assembly at its 61st session a report on the implementation of the present resolution, as appropriate; decides to include in the provisional agenda of its 61st session the sub-item entitled "Cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization of American States".
