Provides an assessment of the security situation and the overall progress made in the drawdown of the UN Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) since the last report of 9 Sept. 2004 (S/2004/724). Describes the preparations for the transition from the current configuration of the UNAMSIL to its residual presence in Sierra Leone, as set out in resolution 1537 (2004) of 30 Mar. 2004. Also includes sections on the following: human rights, national reconciliation and justice; humanitarian issues and national recovery; Mission support issues; and observations and recommendations. Included annexes are: i) a table showing military and civilian police strength of the UNAMSIL as at 5 Dec. 2004; and ii) a map showing the UNAMSIL deployment as of Dec. 2004. DAA
