Co-operation between the United Nations and the Organization of American States : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly.

Invites the Secretary-General to take the necessary measures for promoting and expanding co-operation and co-ordination between the UN and the OAS in order to increase the capacity of the 2 organizations for the attainment of their common objectives; recommends that a general meeting should be held between representatives of the OAS and of the UN and other organizations of the UN system, on a date and at a place to be determined, for the purpose of holding consultations on projects, measures and procedures which will facilitate and broaden co-operation between those organizations; recommends that in 1989 local meetings should be promoted between resident representatives of the 2 organizations in each country which is a member of both organizations, in consultation with the national authorities of those countries.
