Provides details on the activities of the Personal Envoy and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Western Sahara. Also reports on the the activities of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) and reviews the Mission's strength. States that the Mission's military component, as currently structured and staffed, provides an essential element of confidence-building and conflict management in Western Sahara and that no reduction should come at the expense of the capacity and credibility of the UN operational and political role. Recommends that the mandate of MINURSO be extended for 6 months, until 30 Apr. 2005.
