Transmits interim report prepared by Doudou Diène, Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 58/160 of 2 Mar. 2004. Reviews the activities in which the Special Rapporteur participated in the context of the follow-up to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance. Stresses, with regard to contemporary manifestations of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, the new challenges in the struggle against racial discrimination and xenophobia, particularly the weakening of solidarity among victims, and deals with Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and Christianophobia, as well as racism in sports and racism on the Internet. Also outlines the measures taken by Canada, Switzerland and Netherlands and, lastly, makes recommendations. DAA
