Describes the progress made in the withdrawal of the UN Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) and provides an assessment of the security situation and implementation of the benchmarks for the UNAMSIL drawdown since the last report of 19 Mar. 2004 (S/2004/228). Includes sections on the following: security situation; local government elections; implementation of the UNAMSIL drawdown plan; progress on benchmarks; human rights, national reconciliation and justice; humanitarian situation and national economy recovery; the regional dimension; cooperation and coordination with other peacekeeping operations; and observations and recommendations.
