Summary
Highlights activities of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on the implementation of requests and proposals made by the Secretary-General in his report entitled "Strengthening of the United Nations : an agenda for change" (A/57/387 and Corr.1) to strengthen human rights-related UN actions at the country level, to consult with treaty bodies on new streamlined reporting procedures, and to undertake a review of the special procedures and make recommendations on how to enhance their effectiveness and improve the support provided.
