Security Council resolution 1526 (2004) [on improving implementation of measures imposed by paragraph 4 (b) of resolution 1267 (1999), paragraph 8 (c) of resolution 1333 (2000) and paragraphs 1 and 2 of resolution 1390 (2002) on measures against Al-Qaida and the Taliban]

Decides to improve the implementation of the measures imposed by paragraph 4 (b) of resolution 1267 (1999), paragraph 8 (c) of resolution 1333 (2000) and paragraphs 1 and 2 of resolution 1390 (2002); decides to strengthen the mandate of the Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267 (1999); decides that the measures referred to in paragraph 1 above will be further improved in 18 months, or sooner if necessary; decides to establish for a period of 18 months an Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team with the responsibilities annexed to this resolution; requests the Secretary-General to appoint 8 experts of the Monitoring Team; further requests the Monitoring team to submit 3 comprehensive reports to the Committee on 31 July 2004, 15 Dec. 2004 and 30 June 2005; requests the Committee's Chairman to report orally at least every 120 days to the Council in detail on the overall work of the Committee.
