Summary
Reaffirms the inalienable right of the peoples of the Territories to self-determination, including, if they so wish, independence, in conformity with the Charter of UN and with General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV), containing the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples; requests the Administering Powers to transmit reports regarding popular consultations on the Territories future political status; urges Member States to contribute to the efforts of UN to usher in a world free of colonialism, and calls upon them to continue to give their full support to the Special Committee in its endeavours towards that noble goal.
