Summary
Expresses its deep concern at the growing manifestations of racism, xenophobia and other forms of discrimination and inhuman or degrading treatment directed against migrant workers in various parts of the world; calls once again upon all Member States that have not yet ratified the Convention to consider urgently signing and ratifying or acceding to it; calls upon States parties to the Convention to submit in a timely manner their first periodic report, as requested in article 73 of the Convention; requests the Secretary-General to submit an updated report on the status of the Convention to the General Assembly at its 59th session.
