Summary
Notes the activities of Unesco undertaken during the UN Year for Cultural Heritage; takes note with appreciation of the adoption of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage by the General Conference of Unesco at its 32nd session, on 17 Oct. 2003; welcomes the adoption of the Declaration concerning the Intentional Destruction of Cultural Heritage by the General Conference of Unesco on 17 Oct. 2003; invites Unesco, in collaboration with Member States, observers, relevant UN bodies, within their respective mandates, other international organizations and relevant non-governmental organizations, to continue to intensify the implementation of programmes, activities and projects aimed at the promotion and protection of the world cultural heritage; invites Member States and observers to continue to promote education and raise public awareness so as to foster respect for national and world cultural heritage.
