DAA Updates developments since the previous report of 18 Nov. 2002 (S/2001/1076). Highlights the most significant developments during the period: the signing of the ceasefire agreement of 2 Dec. 2002; the peaceful transfer of power at the helm of the State on 1 May 2003; the deployment of the African Mission in Burundi and the establishment of the Joint Ceasefire Commission; the signing of the Pretoria Protocols on political, defence and security power-sharing by the Transitional Government and the Conseil national pour la défense de la démocratie-forces pour la défense de la democratie (CNDD-FDD) (Pierre Nkurunziza) on 8 Oct. and 2 Nov. 2003; and the signing on 16 Nov. of a comprehensive ceasefire implementation document. Also covers security situation, economic situation, humanitarian and human rights situation, and administrative and financial implications.
