Statement [made on behalf of the Security Council, at the 4845th meeting, 16 Oct. 2003, in connection with the Council's consideration of the item entitled "Threat to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts"]

Confirms the continuation of the current arrangements for the Bureau of the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) for a further 6 months and invites the CTC to pursue its agenda as set out in the work programme for the CTC's 9th 90-day period (S/2003/995); notes that 48 Member States are late in submitting a further report, as called for in resolution 1373 (2001); calls on them urgently to do so, in order to maintain the universality of response which resolution 1373 (2001) requires; invites the CTC to continue reporting on its activities at regular intervals and expresses its intention to review the structure and activities of the CTC no later than 4 Apr. 2004.
