Questions relating to information : report of the Secretary-General

Describes the recent activities of the Department of Public Information and the implementation of the recommendations contained in resolution 57/130 B. Recalls the new mission statement of the Department and its revised operating model, and explains the Department's new organizational structure, which is aligned to a proposed new subprogramme structure: i) strategic communications services; ii) news services; iii) library services; and iv) outreach services. Also describes progress in the implementation of the proposal for the regionalization of UN information centres and provides details on the implementation phase of the plan for Western Europe. DAA
